The National Community Foundations Forum

Investing In Our Future

23-25 October 2022

Community Foundations Australia acknowledges that the 2022 National Community Foundations Forum will take place on the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.

Investing In Our Future

This first in-person National Community Foundations Forum (NCFF) since 2019 under the theme Investing In Our Future takes place as communities around Australia emerge from years of crisis response, recovery and rebuilding. It's an important moment for the community foundation network to come together to share stories and lessons learnt, inspire and challenge each other, and build the relationships and trust needed for the future of community philanthropy in Australia.

The 2022 Forum will be co-hosted by our members Geelong Community Foundation and the Give Where You Live Foundation.

Sunday 23rd October (12 noon start) - Tuesday 25th October (closing at 3pm) AEDT

Novotel Geelong
10/14 Eastern Beach Rd, Geelong VIC 3220

The National Community Foundations Forum, or NCFF, is a conference for community foundations, the wider community philanthropy sector, and those who support it. It has been held annually for about 15 years (except for the pandemic).

The Forum offers inspiration, education and connection. It’s an opportunity to share and learn, network, build collective voice and impact, and reconnect with the inspiration and motivation at the heart of community philanthropy.

NCFF welcomes stakeholders from within and beyond the community philanthropy ecosystem to come together, explore common challenges and partner for shared solutions.

It invites leaders including policy makers, funders and philanthropists to strengthen their commitment and practical support for community foundations and community philanthropy.

National Community Foundations Forum

A place-based forum

NCFF is held in a different place each year, co-hosted by one or more local community foundations.

This allows delegates to experience first-hand the impact of a local community foundation in the community it serves as the host foundations showcase how they take local action to address local issues.

NCFF brings visitors and income to regional host communities. Wherever possible, NCFF will engage local providers of goods and services in running the conference.

In 2022, the Forum will be held in Geelong in Victoria on Wadawurrung Country.

NCFF’22 co-hosts

Give Where You Live Foundation

The Give Where You Live Foundation traces back its origins to 1954, which makes it one of Australia’s oldest community foundations.

The Foundation delivers funding and innovative programs to enhance the wellbeing of Geelong and neighbouring regions. Its key focus areas are education, employment, and support for people in crisis.

Geelong Community Foundation

The Geelong Community Foundation was established in 2000. In just 20 years it has become one of the largest community foundations in Australia in terms of funds under management and community investment.

Its priority areas include aged care, community wellbeing, environment, education and training, health, youth, research and innovation, and heritage and the arts.

Djilang - Wadawurrung Country

Located 75 kilometres south-west of Melbourne on Corio Bay, the area known as Djilang by its traditional owners is today’s port city of Geelong.

For over 40,000 years, the Wadawurrung people lived sustainably of the land, using its natural resources and vast grasslands for hunting. Today, the region is a unique blend of suburban, coastal, rainforest and farming landscapes. Geelong serves as the regional centre for the surrounding areas, providing retail, commercial, community, education and health services.

Thank you

Contributions from our partners enable us to keep registration costs for NCFF accessible for community foundations of all sizes and capacity.

Special thanks to our partners who are providing support in the form of Forum bursaries to help remove cost barriers to ensure access for all who would like to attend.

Community Foundations Australia sincerely thanks those who have already confirmed their support. We look forward to finalising discussions that are still in progress.
